After years of trying for a Kṛṣṇa conscious, self sufficient homestead lifestyle we would like to share some lessons and experiences to give today’s youth a head start.

Help train the youth!

We are hoping that one day we will be able to host the youth of our family, friends and spiritual community for life-changing experiences at the farm with the cows, crops and natural beauty. We hope to inspire them to consider the value of a rural lifestyle and to give them the skills and knowledge to get started. We need your help to make this a reality. We are not there yet.

  • A day trip can include a weekend day to take part in some of the seasonal activities in the garden, pasture or barn and some chanting with a delicious meal.

  • (Accommodations permitting)

A weekend or a weeklong trip will give a more complete experience of the daily cycle of events on the farm by taking part in milking, cow care, and seasonal bull work, gardening and food processing. The young guests can take part in our morning and evening bhakti yoga home program of chanting and hearing from the authentic Kṛṣṇa conscious texts.

  • (Accommodations permitting)

Getting the complete farm life experience is possible by staying with us for a few weeks or a full season. On top of the full range of farm activities, the youth can take part in farmers’ markets and explore with us the business opportunities that living on a farm can afford them. They will also benefit from a deeper immersion into the culture and science of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

Hoping to build accommodations!

To host selected visitors for weekend or weeklong stays accommodations similar to this simple cabin are needed.

Varnasrama College

Our self-sufficiency agriculture and cow protection training program is a cornerstone of a broader vision that also incorporates training for saintly teachers of society and martially spirited administrative men. Adolescents and young adults will be given the opportunity to develop meaningful occupations tailored to their specific natures all the while being prepared for spiritual development through life’s critical stages.

Room to Grow

While most of our progress has been achieved in the matter of self-sufficiency agriculture and cow protection, programs for training saintly teachers and martially spirited administrative men are already under way.

We hope that with your support and through collaboration with like-minded partners we can complete the realisation of a full-fledged training institution and self-sufficient model village as conceived by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada!

It takes a village.

To achieve a viable alternative to the chaotic, present day society, the creation of model villages centred on spiritual development and harmony between men and women of distinct occupations and natures demonstrating ideal life, not idle life, is of utmost importance. We suggest it can be achieved through these farm-based training center in three phases.

  • Time-tested methods of training in four principal occupational fields that are accessible to any income level are researched and applied in practice. Opportunities for respectable livelihoods are discovered and the simplest and most dignified living standards are developed to complement each occupation.

  • As practices are perfected, learning experiences are made available for eager participants. Accommodations to facilitate students are built. Short term training camps and long term apprenticeships are established. Guidance in earning a livelihood through newly acquired skills is given.

  • As candidates become expert and independent in their respective fields of work, and their distinctive characters are refined, the opportunity for peaceful cooperation between individuals is manifest and a happy, healthy societal body is constituted in the form of a small village. With a collective aim to please the Supreme Lord, Sri Krsna, everyone is set on an accelerated path back home, back to Godhead.
